Meadows Medical Centre is a mixed billing practice.

We only bulk-bill patients under 16 and those with a valid concession card for general consultations. However, some types of consultations will still attract a fee.

Patients 16 and over, and those without a valid concession card are not bulk-billed and any consultation fees must be settled at the end of your appointment. In-Person and Phone consultations attract a fee and payment must be made at the time of your consultation, much like all other goods and services you utilise. Many consultations will be eligible for a Medicare rebate and we can process this rebate directly onto a cheque or savings card at the time of payments or we can send your claim to Medicare for payment into your bank account.

Medicare Rebateble Services

For non concession card holders our fees are as follows to be paid on the day:

Standard consult: $92.85 (out of pocket expense $50.00) Early Morning Standard consult (prior to 8am): $105.80

Longer consult: $142.90 (out of pocket expense $60.00) Early Morning Longer Consult: $155.70

Prolonged/Complex consult: $182.15 (out of pocket expense $60.00) Early Morning Prolonged Consults: $194.20

PHONE CONSULTATIONS:

Phone consultations are charged at the same rates as face-to-face consultations, however Medicare only provides you a maximum rebate of of up to $41.20 unless you have nominated our practice as your usual practice through MyMedicare. This means if your phone consultation is longer than a standard consultation your out of pocket costs will be higher.

If you would like to receive the higher rebate for your long phone consultations please register with MyMedicare online through MyGov or your Medicare app. Alternatively please speak to reception about completing a written registration form.

OTHER SERVICES - some of our services attract higher fees and out-of pocket costs

Iron infusions will incur a $80 gap fee on top of the Medicare rebate.

Mirena Insertions incur a $150 fee on top of the Medicare rebate

Skin Procedures are generally charged the Medicare rebate fee plus a minimum $90 gap for account holders and $60 for pensioners (unless otherwise advised by your doctor). This will be charged to you once we have received the result from pathology.

There may be additional charges for therapeutic and diagnostic services such as ECGs, etc

Non-REBATABLE SERVICES

Some services, such as Insurance and Employment/Pre-Employment Medicals or Services provided to Non-Medicare card holders, do not attract a Medicare Rebate and the patient will be required to pay all fees including consultation, therapeutic and diagnostic fees at the time of the consultation. The patient may then be able to claim these costs back from their insurer or employer.

WORKERS COMPENSATION

Workers Compensation services will be charged directly to the patient who can then claim this back from their Workers Compensation insurer.

Workers Compensation services will only be billed directly to the Workers Compensation Insurer where a claim has been accepted and confirmed by the insurer and only at the discretion of Meadows Medical Centre
